SHOOTING INCIDENT

Police are investigating a shooting incident which has left one person injured. On 9.03.10, at 7:45pm, Police visited the K.H.M.H Trauma Room where they saw Elvis Bevans, of a Belize City address, suffering from two gunshot wounds to his left leg and foot.  Initial investigation revealed that whilst Bevans was riding his bicycle on Neal Pen Road, from the direction of Central American Boulevard heading towards Kraal Road, he was approached by a male person who rode up to him from behind and fired several shots at him causing the said injuries. Police are busy piecing the motive for this incident.  

POSTMORTEM EXAMINATION

A postmortem examination conducted on the body of Elmor Alexander Lemott, of a Central American Boulevard address, where at the conclusion of the examination doctor certified the cause of death to be Exsanguinations due to internal bleeding due to heart injury as a consequence of a gunshot wound to the chest. 

ATTEMPT MURDER

Police are investigating a shooting incident which has left one person in a critical condition. On 9.03.10, at 8:30a,m , Police visited Bun‘s Car Wash, in Corozal Town  where they observed Omar Vellos, suffering from gunshot wounds to his left lower and upper back. Initial investigation reveals that Omar Vellos was at his business place when he was approached by Donovan Franzua who had a misunderstanding with him. As a result Franzua took out a firearm and fired three shots at Vellos causing the said injuries. Omar Vellos was transported to the Corozal Community Hospital and later to the K.H.M.H in a critical condition. Police are looking for Donovan Franzua in regards to this incident.

FATAL TRAFFIC ACCIDENT

Police are investigating a fatal traffic accident that occurred on Santa Elena Road.  On 9.03.10, at 8:30pm, Police visited the scene of a Road Traffic Accident on Santa Elena Road, Corozal District where they observed the lifeless body of Felipe Navarrette, 72yrs, Watchman of Santa Elena Road, lying face up bleeding from the left side of the head. Initial investigation reveals that Felipe Navarette was riding his bicycle on Santa Elena Road from the direction of Chan Chen junction towards the Santa Elena Border where upon reaching between miles 89 and 90 he was hit from behind by a gray in color Subaru Car L/P CZL C- 16968, driven at the time by William Dixon, 64yrs, Corozal District who was traveling in the same direction. The body was transported to the Corozal Hospital where it was pronounce dead on arrival and now awaits a postmortem examination. Police have since detained William Dixion pending charges.

BURGLARY

Police are investigating a burglary that occurred at Running W Brand Meat located on the Western Highway. Carla Reguelme Belizean Office Manager for Running W Meat Brand Products San Ignacio Town, reported that the main office of the building located at the mile 63 Western Highway was burglarized between 5:00pm on 5.03.10 and 6:15am on the 9.03.10, stolen therefrom were (3) transparent plastic bag containing the sales for Thursday March 4th 2010 and Friday March 5th 2010 from a metal safe which amounted to $18,012.45bcy in cash, and $7,035bcy in cheque. All to a total of $25, 004.58 bcy. Police seeking one person for questioning in regards to this matter.   

INDECENT ASSAULT

An 11year old Belizean student of Ladyville Village Belize District, accompanied by her aunt reported that in the Month of December, 2009 she was sexually molested by her father and this has been happening from since she move in with him seven years ago.

INCEST

An 8 year old female Belizean student of Ladyville Village, Belize District visited the station accompanied by her Aunt and reported that during the summer vacation of 2008, whilst at home along with her father sexually molested her on numerous occasions. A medical Examination was conducted and doctor certified that the child was carnally known. As a result of both incident Police have formally arrested and charged the 49year old father for crimes of Indecent Assault against the 11year old female and Incest and Grievous Harm against the 8 years old female.
