BELIZE CITY

SHOOTING INCIDENT

On the 23rd of January 2017 at about 8:45pm, police responded to a shooting incident on Lindo’s Alley, and visited the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where they saw 19-year-old Keimar NICHOLAS suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the left side of the neck. Investigations revealed that around 8:40pm, Keimar NICHOLAS was socializing on the basketball court located at Lindo’s Alley along with two friends when a tall male person reportedly approached them on a bicycle and fired several shots at them, injuring NICHOLAS. Keimar NICHOLAS was listed as critical at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital Intensive Care Unit. A black, white & silver colored 20 inch, male frame, beach cruiser bicycle believed to be that of the perpetrator was recovered on Cemetery Road. Also, a black Sig Sauer firearm with an empty magazine believed to be the weapon used in the incident was found. Police investigation continues.
 
ARREST

Reference the Murder of Clinton FRAZER which occurred on the 22nd of January 2017; on the 23rd of January 2017, police arrested and charged Henry HARRIS, 23-year-old of Belize City, with the crime of Murder.          
 
KEPT FIREARM & AMMUNITION WITHOUT A GUN LICENSE

On the 23rd of January 2017 at about 1:34pm,, while police were conducting patrols on Iguana Street when they intercepted Kadeem Omar ANDERSON, 21-year-old of Belize City, who was riding a bicycle on Curassow Street. Upon seeing the police, ANDERSON jumped off his bicycle and ran into a yard and threw an object over a fence. He was apprehended and taken to where the object was thrown where police recovered a Smith and Wesson .38 revolver with wooden handle loaded with six live rounds of ammunition. As a result, Police have arrested and charged Kadeem ANDERSON for the offence of "Kept Firearm without a Gun License” and “Kept Ammunition without a Gun License”.
