At about 10:16am on 28th August 2014, police visited a room a 3-Star Guest House on Meighan Avenue where they saw a male person, apparently dead. He was later identified as 47-year-old American Citizen Robert THOMAS. He had an apparent cut wound to the inner arm and abrasions to the left wrist. He was transported to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead. THOMAS was last seen alive on 27th August 2014 by his landlady. Police investigations continue.
 
On 28th August 2014 at about 1:00am, police visited the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital where they saw 25-year-old Police Constable Victor CHULIN suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to the leg. Initial investigations revealed that at about 12:49am, Victor CHULIN was standing on Cemetery Road in front of Trench Alley, Belize City, when his 9mm CZ brand service pistol accidentally went off as he was adjusting his trousers. The accidental discharge caused his injury. Police are investigating for any breach of protocol.

SAN PEDRO TOWN

FOUND PROPERTY 

Acting on information received, on 27th August 2014 at about 3:15pm, a search was conducted in an abandoned lot at the corner of Swan and Glitter Street, San Pedro Town, by members of San Pedro Quick Response Team (QRT), CIB and SB personnel. A grey plastic bag containing white flour-like substance, suspected to be Cocaine was found. No one was found in the immediate area and the suspected cocaine was then taken to the San Pedro Police Station where it was weighed. The drug amounted to 373.7 grams. It was placed in an empty envelope, sealed and labelled as Found Property.

RAPE ARREST

Reference the report made  on 31st July 2014; on 27th August 2014, Punta Gorda Police formally arrested and charged Michael Lino PAU, 19 year old Barber of Bella Vista Village, Stann Creek District, for (2) counts of Rape of a Child.
